With our Kate Spade-y theme in mind I was hoping to find something that felt very Kate Spade-y for the bridesmaids dresses. Like my previous inspiration, I was looking for something bold.
Here are some of the things I was open to:
Gold, especially sequins
Stripes– Horizontal to be specific
Something to Give it Extra Personality: Bows, Back Cutouts etc.
Ultimately many of Kate Spade’s recent dress collections are A-line dresses with a defined waist and a fitted top. Many also have a higher neckline (often a boatneck style), so something that shape was ideal. I didn’t want thin, flowy materials (like chiffon) because I wanted the dress to have some structure and feel more formal and architectural (and less “romantic” like my woodsy inspiration) since we are hosting an evening ballroom wedding.
Next up, I’ll tell you how we found a bold dress with a high neckline, an interesting back and pockets!
